Company History

Pat Turns and Bill Bius established West Memphis Fence & Construction, Inc. in 1967 under the name Hurricane Fence. The name was changed in 1968 to better reflect the scope of their work.

West Memphis Fence and Construction, Inc. changed its focus to commercial & industrial fencing with the arrival of The Austin Company in Memphis to build the Federal Express Complex. Since the original Federal Express project we have been involved in installing fences for various Prisons, Baseball Complexes, all the Tunica Casinos, Memphis International Airport projects, Auto Off-Load Facilities and many other high security projects. We are well known to all the local General Contractors in the Memphis area, and they can tell you about the quality of our work as we have completed numerous projects for them.

In 1987, Bill‘s oldest son, Steven Bius came to work for the Company and in 1998, his youngest son, Jason Bius joined the Company, both helping to make this Company even more successful.
Pat Turns has served as President of the Memphis Tri-State Fence Association, a local chapter of the American Fence Association, for numerous terms and was honored by the National American Fence Association in 2003 with the Distinguished Service Award. Steven Bius has served as President of the Memphis Tri-State Fence Association and in 2003 was elected Vice-President of the National American Fence Association.

West Memphis Fence now has five (5) Estimators, an Office Manager, two (2) Office Assistants, two (2) full-time Mechanics, three (3) Job Superintendents and thirty-five (35) Fence Installers.

The fleet consists of fifteen (15) trucks, six (6) bobcats, four (4) compressors and two (2) delivery trucks
