Pat Turns and Bill Bius established West Memphis Fence & Construction, Inc. in 1967 under the name Hurricane Fence. The name was changed in 1968 to better reflect the scope of their work.
West Memphis Fence and Construction, Inc. changed its focus to commercial & industrial fencing with the arrival of The Austin Company in Memphis to build the Federal Express Complex. Since the original Federal Express project we have been involved in installing fences for various prisons, Tunica Casinos, Memphis International Airport projects, Auto Off-Load Facilities and many other high security projects. Additionally, we have been involved in large school projects in the Tri-State area, including sports complexes, ornamental fencing for various schools, and protective fencing for utility areas around various schools. We are well known by the general contractors in the Memphis area and they can tell you about the quality of our work as we have completed numerous projects for them. West Memphis Fence not only services the Memphis area, but has completed numerous projects all over the United States.
In 1987, Bill’s oldest son, Steven Bius, came to work for the company and was joined in 1998 by his youngest son, Jason Bius. Continuing in their father’s footsteps, both sons continue to contribute to the company’s success.
Steven Bius has served as President of the Memphis Tri-State Fence Association, was elected in 2003 as Vice-President of the National American Fence Association, and was elected in 2005 as President of the National American Fence Association. He has also served on the Board of Governors.
